2009 Business Changes
In making my decisions regarding the 2009 Season it is necessary to find way and means to
conserve my overhead expense. I am well aware of the economic times that each of us is experiencing.
In making my business decisions I have tried to maintain a balance between guest's expenses and
business overhead costs. The following changes will go into effect with the opening of the 2009 Season:
- There will be an annual $10 membership fee that will be added to your first visit for
the 2009 season. The membership fee will be renewable annually.
- A daily pet fee of $10 per pet has been added this season. No pets are allowed in the
Main House or the Bunkhouse.
- All Breakfasts served will be a continental breakfast unless it is a special breakfast that
is part of an event.
- All guests must bring their own drinks, ice, coolers, and food.
- Guests bringing their own food may use the house refrigerator space and grill. There are
restaurants only a few miles away as well as country grocery stores.
- On Saturday nights when announced dinner will consist of a potluck. The house will furnish the
main dish and guests who participate in the potluck are asked to bring a covered dish. Guests
may use the main house kitchen to prepare their covered dish.
- All guests are asked to bring all personal articles including towels. Main House and
Bunkhouse guests do not have to bring bed linens.
- A fee for towels, campers requiring linens, and other personal articles may be applied if
applicable at the owner's discretion.
- A washer and dryer is available for emergency use only.
- Some special weekends and holiday reservations are subject to a required minimal stay.
- All guests will purchase a pass or lodging.
- All balances due and payments will be collected at the time of arrival. We now accept Discover Card,
Mastercard, and VISA.
- The practice of taking money for food donations has been discontinued.
- A reminder to potential guests -- please do not call the Bear & Boar asking for names of
individuals who may have made a reservation or asking if certain individuals are guests.
I have never shared this information and I never will. I would appreciate it if you would not
do this.
- Lodging guests typically paid a $20 party pass for special Friday, Saturday, and Holiday parties.
The price of the 2009 party pass has been reduced to $15 and may be waived at the discretion of
the owner.
- No directions will be given out or e-mailed unless you have made a reservation and partially paid
for your reservation.
Should you have any questions regarding the above changes please contact the owner.
